Dear members of Connexion ARC and our extended community,
In light of the tragic findings at the Kamloops Residential School and the continuing discoveries of murdered children on Residential School sites, we mourn the 215 children who were discarded in this mass grave and the effects these colonial institutions have had.
As a contemporary art institution, we hold core values that include diversity, and representation, and recognize the centuries of systemic racism, and the genocide of Indigenous Peoples on Turtle Island by colonizers, and the Canadian government.
We hope to become better at respecting the treaties between us.
