Connexion artist-run centre is a not-for-profit arts organization for the promotion and development of contemporary art. The centre operates without a traditional gallery space to present permanent and temporary projects sited in the city of Fredericton, capital of New Brunswick.
Connexion’s discourse happens in spaces outside of traditional gallery settings, generating new venues for artists to discuss their practices. This responsive model of arts programming welcomes the public to engage with contemporary and experimental art practices, made possible through strategic partnerships established with collaborating businesses, organizations, institutions, and members of the community.
Established in 1984, Connexion ARC continues to play a vital role as Fredericton’s primary contemporary art space for over 40 years. We emphasize exchange within an expanding community of artists, curators, partners, and international visitors, and understand ourselves as part of a regional and national network of artist-run spaces.
We are committed to:
- Promoting experimental contemporary art practices, with an emphasis on emerging artists and ideas.
- Supporting the professional development of our artist-membership
- Providing a supportive, open, and equitable space for the discussion of contemporary art
Connexion ARC pays professional fees for all of its programming according to the CARFAC fee schedule.
We graciously acknowledge the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Government of New Brunswick, The City of Fredericton, the Sheila Hugh Mackay Foundation, ArtsNB, and our active membership.
