As Across the Threshold comes to a close at the George Fry Gallery, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us throughout the exhibition’s month-long run.

Presented as part of Connexion ARC’s 40th Anniversary celebrations, Across the Threshold brought together an outstanding group of regional artists whose works explored the complex relationships between home, nature, memory, and our impact on the environment. Through soft sculpture, film, photography, printmaking, textile art, and interactive installation, the exhibition invited visitors to consider the spaces we inhabit and the living worlds that exist just beyond our doors.
The exhibition featured works by Ry O’Toole, D’Arcy Wilson, Anna Torma, David Zsako, Nat Cann, Caitlin Wilson, and Gillian Dykeman. Together, their works created a rich and interconnected dialogue about the natural world, colonial histories, domestic spaces, and our shared responsibility toward the environments we inhabit.

The opening reception on September 5 was a packed house, with visitors filling the gallery to celebrate the exhibition and connect with the artists. Throughout the evening, attendees had the opportunity to experience the works firsthand, engage in thoughtful conversations, and hear several of the participating artists speak about their projects, providing valuable context and insight into their creative processes.

We were thrilled by the enthusiastic response the exhibition received. Visitors shared excellent feedback on both the strength of the individual works and the powerful conversations that emerged between them. The exhibition sparked meaningful discussions about our relationship with the natural world and demonstrated the importance of artist-run spaces in fostering dialogue, experimentation, and community engagement.

We would like to thank all of the participating artists for sharing their incredible work, as well as the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design for co-hosting the exhibition at the George Fry Gallery. Thank you also to everyone who visited, attended the opening, and helped make Across the Threshold such a memorable part of Connexion ARC’s 40th-anniversary year.
