Connexion ARC 40th Anniversary: Archive Exhibition

This year marks Connexion’s 40th anniversary as an Artist-Run Centre. A milestone like this is not just cause to celebrate an organization but to celebrate the dedicated and engaged community that made this possible. Through consistent support and the efforts of staff and volunteers, Connexion has managed to be a part of the Fredericton Arts community for four decades, making it among the oldest artist-run centres in New Brunswick.

To commemorate this incredible achievement, we have pulled material from Connexion’s archives to reflect on some of those individuals that made this possible. The images on display range from posters and photographs, to news clippings and documents that are evidence of the breadth of Connexion’s programming as well as the organization’s role as a gathering place for the arts institutions and organizations of Fredericton to meet and discuss issues concerning artists and arts workers.

On display in the hallway on the main floor of the Charlotte Street Art Centre, this Archive Exhibition represents a small sample of images from 1984 onwards, showcasing the first ten years of the organization.

We want to thank everyone that has had some part to play in Connexion’s long legacy.

Thank you to the Charlotte Street Arts Centre and the Provincial Archives for making this exhibition possible.
