Interloper, a conversation with Tomas Jonsson

Tuesday, October 6, 2015 @ 6 PM

Performance art is an essentially contested concept: any single definition suggests the recognition of rival uses. As concepts like “democracy” or “art”, it implies productive disagreement with itself.

Join us for a conversation with artist Tomas Jonsson, in Connexion ARC’s main space.

A Calgary-based artist working in performative practice, Tomas is also the artistic director of the Mountain Standard Time Festival, an artist-run performative art festival, taking place bi-annually across Southern Alberta. He is the organizer of the Screening of Performance Art in the Natural Environment, a video art series which will be screened at Connexion ARC next month.

His artist talk will be followed by impossible dinner party at 8PM, with improvisational jazz performances by Craig Pedersen (MTL) and Shayna Dulberger (NYC), alongside Fredericton-based musicians Joel LeBlanc, Cam Corey & Tate LeJeune.
