First Annual Artist Trading Card Event at Gallery Connexion!

First Annual Artist Trading Card Event at Gallery Connexion!
Friday, January 21st, 2011

Registration for the event is now closed (early) as we had an incredibly positive response, so thank you all for your interest and enthusiasm!

The event will be held on Friday evening, January 21st at Gallery Connexion, 440 York St, Fredericton. Your cards must be completed by this date!

Each of you will be making 53 cards:

  • 1 for your own collection
  • 1 for Gallery Connexion’s archives
  • 51 for all the other participants

Some things to keep in mind:

  • The idea is that the cards are miniature works of art, and all types of art are accepted.
  • You may use any medium, any materials, and any techniques (paintings, drawings, collages, photographs, printmaking, mixed media, found images, assemblages, wood, clay, metal, fabric, etc).
  • The only rule is the size: 64 x 89 mm or 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches.  You can make them as thick as you wish (for example if you’re working with clay or something).
  • Every card can be different or you can make them all the same.
  • The cards don’t have to be laminated nor in single sleeves.
  • On the back of the card you can put your signature, the date and the number (if the card is part of an edition) and your website or contact information if you like, but it is not required.
  • For images and examples: http://www.artist-trading-cards.ch/ or search “Artist Trading Cards”
  • Enjoy! Have fun making your cards!

IMPORTANT:  Membership with Gallery Connexion is required before the date of the actual event (January 21st, 2011).  It’s very affordable and your support goes a long way.

Membership information can be found here.

ALSO IMPORTANT:  if you have changed your mind for any reason, please notify organizers right away so your space can be given to someone else!
