Splinter of the Mind’s Eye

EXHIBITION: from Friday, June 6 2014 @ 7PM

Against all odds: against gentrification, against discrimination, against rejection, against regret, a collective belief in romantic love persists… unwavering.

Presented at Connexion ARC’s new location in the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (732 Charlotte Street), a new body of wry sculptural work by Calgary-based artist Steven Cottingham re-frames narratives of struggle and defeat in order to highlight the dogged persistence of love.

OPENING RECEPTION on Friday, June 6 2014 @ 7pm.

Through an artistic practice that works with readymade objects, symbols, narratives and language Cottingham’s installation work for Connexion ARC plays between a sense of the familiar and the strange.

A Splinter of the Mind’s Eye runs through September 12 2014.

Connexion ARC gratefully acknowledges the support of the Canada Council for the Arts, the Province of New Brunswick, the City of Fredericton, and the Picaroons Brewing Company.
